SEHIKYO is a fashion research and practice project run by Seohee Kim, based in Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, Korea. The project explores the visual metaphors offered by clothing through the acts of making and wearing garments. It emphasises the material properties of clothing by using materials that bear traces of use, and through DIY (do-it-yourself) activities like knitting and sewing, focusing on the combination of materials and craft-based practice. This approach is based on the various concepts intertwined between clothing and fashion, and it prompts the project to autonomously question and explore personal or social meanings in the act of wearing. Ultimately, SEHIKYO collaborates with wearers to share ideas about making and wearing garments, aiming to expand the meaning of clothing and wearing.

Seohee Kim is a fashion researcher and practitioner who received her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design Womenswear from the London College of Fashion in 2016. She also completed her Master of Arts in Fashion Design Womenswear from the Royal College of Art (RCA), London in 2018. She is currently working as a co-founder at Textum Club, a platform focused on critical fashion research.
