(Un)dressing: The Sacred Space Between Dressing and Undressing

Seohee Kim’s RCA graduation project begins by observing the process of dressing as an ambiguous threshold between private and public space. This inquiry develops through borrowing the conceptual and visual language of the theatrical “backstage.” The visual research was primarily conducted through the wardrobe—a space where garments collected by her mother since early adulthood have accumulated—and was later extended into the graduation presentation at 180 Strand, where a newly adult model and a middle-aged woman appeared in an interwoven sequence.
